Vogue July 2012
Hawaiian-born model Leilani Bishop distills her beachy sensibility into a new fragrance collection, as told to Catherine Piercy for Vogue, July 2012
Bishop grew up on 80 acres of verdant Hawaiian farmland on the island of Kauai, planting coconut trees and taking in the scent of wild-blooming gardenias and plumerias.
If you've ever been to Hawaii, you know how the air smells, she says of the floral-and-saltwater-scented atmosphere.
In 2007, Bishop began to work developing a trio of pure, uncomplicated fragrance oils - simple authentic interpretations of a flower.
This resulting collection marries all the elements of who I am. Past, present and future.
