Common Fragrance Faux Pas
knowing your boundaries
According to The Fragrance Foundation, everyone has a personal “scent circle”: approximately an arm’s length from the body. No one should be aware of your fragrance unless he or she steps inside your “circle”. Fragrance oil lends itself to keeping your scent off other people because it stays close to the skin. For someone to smell your scent, they would have to come in really close.
less really is more
There is an art to wearing perfume well and as with all things, moderation is key. Perfume is not meant to mark your territory or announce your arrival minutes before walking through the door. After all, perfume tastes vary and it’s just not polite to scent-battle.
crushing your perfume
When applying fragrance to the inside of your wrists, do not rub them together, as this will crush the scent.
